I have never owned a nitro lacquer-finished Tele I have always owned poly-finished Tele's. Most folks seem to dislike the Hot Tele A3 pickups in the Highway One conversely, most folks seem to like the Texas Special A5 pickups in the American Special.

Plus the actual color can be quite different in different lights. If you don't like it you can always get your money back & get the other version. You can still buy the 2007 version neck brand new. The pickups are hot 10-11kĮither version is on it's way up value wise but IMO the 2002 (first year, interesting & rare color) will go faster and maybe farther. Those are my personal favorite neck & have the larger frets. It was reliced by Still Kickin Music to look like a guitar that has seen many years of hard use. The 2007 Version will come up often as there are many more of them made. This is a fresh new relic of a 2006 (60th Anniversary) Fender Highway One Stratocaster in black nitrocellulose finish. Guys, I have a 2003 Highway USA strat and was recently told by Fender that to keep costs down. The first version also has more Vintage voiced pickups (assuming they haven't been swapped) measuring in around 6k (non RWRP middle I think). Introduced at Summer NAMM of 2000, Fenders newly-minted American Series Stratocaster saw numerous minor changes to the American Standard Strats platform, from pickguard and tuners to newly-designed pickups and the overall feel of the neck, with slightly rolled edges to make for a more 'broken-in' feel.
